Rebounding for Detoxification

Thursday, 2. September 2010 12:09 | Author:allendominic

The need to detoxify on a more regular basis has increased in recent years thanks to the increase in the amount of pollutants that can be found in our environment. One of the systems of the body that gets affected by pollution and toxins is the lymphatic system. This is an integral part of the immune system, which defends the body from diseases and infections. If the lymphatic system is unable to do its job well, the body may lose its ability to fight diseases and infections. This could lead to sickness and poor health in general.

You must take care of your lymphatic system and one of the best ways to do this is through rebounding. If you are not yet familiar with this form of exercise, it involves jumping movements using a mini trampoline or a rebounder. The exercise may be simple but it offers plenty of benefits. Stimulating and boosting the capacity of the lymphatic system is just one of them. Another well documented benefit of rebounding is weight loss. The best thing about rebounding is that it can be done by almost anyone even the elderly.

You should start doing specific measures to protect your lymphatic system and your body today.

Rebounding Cleanses the Lymphatic System

Tuesday, 31. August 2010 12:09 | Author:allendominic

Our world today is full of pollution and toxic elements. Everyday we are exposed to different kinds of toxins from the food we eat, the air we breathe and even the water we drink. This is the reason why we need to detoxify ourselves from on a regular basis. The toxins in the body puts a strain on the lymphatic system. When the lymphatic system gets compromised, individuals suffer from poor health. This is because this system is a very important part of the immune system that protects us from diseases and infections.

A very effective way in cleaning the lymphatic system of toxins is through rebounding, which is a form of workout performed with a mini trampoline or rebounder. The jumping motion of this exercise helps stimulate the lymphatic system which in turn boosts its capacity to move fluid that enables cleansing of the lymph nodes and the cells of the body.

Studies have shown that rebounding can also increase the white blood cells for up to three times the normal count. White blood cells are responsible for fighting infections in the body.

Rebounding is an exercise that anyone can do and a rebounder is probably one of the least expensive exercise equipment around.

When we hear the word Yoga, the first thing that comes to our minds are people turning into pretzels as they twist and turn their bodies. The truth is, the most important aspect of Yoga is not the movements or the postures, it is breathing. Breath can be considered as the center of Yoga. One of the main objectives of this ancient practice is to calm the mind through the practice of proper breathing techniques. In fact, by concentrating on their breathing, Yoga practitioners find it easier to perform the asanas or poses.

Consistent Yoga practice leads people to be more conscious of their breathing. They soon see improvements in their health and general well being. Focusing on the breath is also a way to keep the mind from wandering. The breath represents the present. So when a guru or teacher tells you to focus on the present, one of the best ways to do so is to concentrate on the breath. If you will simply let go of all your worries and fix your mind on your breathing, you will become more centered and you will know the real meaning of being in the moment.

To reap the benefits of Yoga, you must learn to focus on your breath first. The movements and the poses will follow.

With such scientific evidence behind the theory, it is best not to dismiss the notion that napping can boost memory potential to a great degree.

Granted, no one has the ability to take a nap whenever the wish arises. We all have schedules we need to keep and that means flexibility will be limited. However, planning ahead to set aside some time for a power nap or a lengthier nap is certainly advisable. This is doubly true for those that might be suffering from memory related problems and issues. Those with such problems no longer need to panic. There is a solution available and it is a reliable one. Napping has tons of benefits and now you can add improved memory potential to the list.

Cancer Fighting Properties of Cayenne Pepper

Saturday, 5. June 2010 7:58 | Author:jangel

Cancer has been christened as the worst disease of the 21st century, and with just cause too. It is an indiscriminate killer that disregards age, gender, and fitness, and strikes randomly at those we love dearly, robbing us of their company. Modern medical science has so far failed to find a magical cure, but now we hear that Mother Nature may already have a cure, and one that has been around for thousands of years – Cayenne Pepper.

Cayennne Pepper (or Capsicum as it is sometimes otherwise known), is a spicy, hot powder derived from the Capsicum Pepper. It has long been known amongst herbalists for its curative powers. The mainstay of its popularity, (outside of kitchen of course), is the fact that it acts rather like a catalyst. When mixed with other herbs, it enables the characteristics and healing quality of those other herbs to fully manifest themselves and to be more completely absorbed into the human body system.

For example, Cayenne Pepper, when mixed with parsley and garlic, is known to significantly reduce blood pressure. It is renowned amongst the herbalist community for contributing towards fighting various diseases and helping to improve vital blood circulation.

apsicum is also regarded as an excellent agent for healing ulcers. This is because that when you ingest Capsicum it excites the mucus forming membranes inside the stomach. It is also credited with helping to counteract inflammation, and improving your digestion. It is known to give relief from an assortment of unpleasant gastrointestinal conditions such as bleeding ulcers, colic, dyspepsia and diarrhea. It also combats shingles pain, so called “cluster” headaches, and even the itchy hands and feet of diabetics’ sufferers.

Cayenne Pepper has been used in alternative medicine for generations because it is fabulously rich in the vitamins and minerals that are needed to promote quick healing. It can even be applied directly to a cut or abrasion. That’s not to say that it doesn’t smart; it most surely does; but it also acts like a coagulant and stops bleeding, fast.

But perhaps the most exciting thing for many people regarding Capsicum, is that is contains high concentrates of Caretones. These are antioxidants that are attributed with healing cardiovascular disease, and combating cancer. Caretones help to protect our body systems from cardiovascular disease, carcinogens and a host of unwanted toxins.

Trials of Capsicums’ cancer treating properties have only just recently got underway, and we are still some time away from testing it out on human subjects. However, the trials that have been carried out have provided some startling revelations.

Controlled laboratory tests have shown that Capsaicin, (one of the substances found in Cayenne Pepper), has the ability to return cancerous cells to a normal healthy condition, and can limit and stop the growth of cancerous tumors. In experiments carried out on mice that were infected with prostate cancer, and then injected with Capsaicin, tumor growth was only 20% of that of mice infected but not treated with Capsaicin. Although tests are still in their infancy, there is a high amount of excited expectancy as to the effectiveness of Capsaicin when given to human patients with cancer. In the meantime research goes on apace.

Can I Practice Yoga at Home?

Thursday, 3. June 2010 17:08 | Author:jangel

Whether you have just gotten started with the yoga basics at your local YMCA or you have been going to classes with a yogi that you admire for some time, you know that you are not going to get better unless you spend some time practicing! However, even after you have found the time to practice, you might be wondering where you can do it. You need enough space to lie down flat on your back, and when you are standing with your legs spread at shoulder width, you should be able to swing your arms around at full extension without hitting anything. The yoga mat should be long enough that when you do a long pose that your feet will not leave it. People who are taller tend to need longer yoga mats.

After you have purchased your yoga mat, there are a few other things that can help you get situated and comfortable in your routine. Blocks can be used to give you more support an you do exercises like lunges or poses like the half-moon. These foam blocks can be purchased from any health store and may even be available from your instructor. You may also find that a strap can be useful when it comes to helping you maintain certain poses that involve putting your legs in the air or when the ball of your foot needs to be pulled back. The strap can be any soft rope, and things like bathrobe ties can be used if you need something quickly.

After you have the equipment and the space, it is all about setting the mood. Too Skinny? How to Gain Weight For Girls

Thursday, 3. June 2010 2:47 | Author:jangel

The media these days is so focused on how fat everyone’s getting that nobody considers those who feel themselves too skinny. People generally don’t have sympathy for someone who wants to gain weight. They often say they wish they had a body like that. The girl who feels too skinny wishes the exact opposite. She wishes she could put on weight so that she felt more womanly, more attractive and more confident. It’s not difficult to gain weight if you’re a girl who can’t seem to put on weight. You just have to know how.

When you eat, how much do you eat? There are some girls who eat everything in sight and never gain a pound, and then there are those who hardly ever eat. The latter either aren’t hungry or they just don’t feel like eating. There is a difference between the two as this group will tell you.

To gain weight, you need to eat more. It’s just that simple. Some would say that those girls that eat everything in sight eat a lot of food and they don’t gain weight. However, those girls probably don’t eat as much as they think they do. The group of hearty eating girls tends to eat big meals but they’ll only eat one or two meals a day. That can amount to the same amount of calories the nit picking girls eat each day. Neither group is eating enough food to gain weight.

To maximize your results, you should plan your meals each day. That way you’ll always have your food available whenever it’s time to eat. All it takes is several small meals and snacks throughout the day to gain weight and keep it on.

It’s said that to lose weight you should eat just enough to satiate you, but you should stop before you’re actually full. To gain weight, you should eat until you’re full. For the girl who feels too skinny, this is going to be uncomfortable at first. Your stomach will probably feel tight, as though it’s going to stretch apart, but this is necessary in order to get the calories required to put on some pounds.

As a general rule, try to eat every two or three hours. Carry your food with you. Try to select foods that are high in protein, moderate in fat and high to moderate in carbohydrates. A great breakfast sample of this is a concoction used by a few champion bodybuilders. It’s made by heating one cup of oatmeal, then adding a scoop of protein powder. Peanut butter is next, along with some fruit to sweeten it up. This gives you everything you need for a complete meal and it will definitely fill you up.

Eat as often as you can, and eat until you can’t eat any more. However, you don’t want to just eat and eat. If you do that, you’re likely to just put on fat. Instead, try to do some weight or bodyweight type exercises so that you can add some muscle to your frame. Don’t worry. You won’t get muscular or look like a man. But you will look proportionate, you’ll be able to easily put on weight, and you’ll be more confident than ever.
